The Queens Guide to Sustainable Travel

At The Queens, we’re proud to be right at the heart of Leeds, a vibrant city that’s best explored with sustainability in mind. Whether you’re joining us for a conference, event, or a weekend away, there are plenty of ways to reduce your carbon footprint while still enjoying every moment of your stay. Here are our top tips for travelling more sustainably:

1. Choose rail over road 🚂
Travelling by train is one of the most sustainable ways to get around, and with our own private entrance into Leeds Station, it couldn’t be easier. Even better, all delegates attending events at The Queens can enjoy 25% OFF rail travel on the LNER London to Edinburgh line when commuting to and from Leeds. A greener journey that’s kinder on your wallet too!

2. Bring a reusable water bottle and coffee cup 💧
Stay hydrated on the go while cutting down on single-use plastic. Many places across Leeds, including The Queens, are more than happy to refill bottles with water or pour your morning coffee into your own cup.

3. Walk and explore🚶
Our central location means nearly all of Leeds’ shops, galleries, restaurants, and attractions are just a short stroll away. Swap taxis for walking shoes and soak up the city atmosphere.

4. Make the most of public transport 🚲
When you’re heading a little further afield, Leeds has excellent transport links, from buses and trains to cycle hire. In fact, you’ll find a Leeds City Bikes hub right outside The Queens in City Square.

5. Choose sustainable dining 🍽️
Opt for seasonal, locally sourced dishes wherever you can. At The Queens, you don’t even have to venture far as our very own Cinnamon Kitchen champions local suppliers!

6. Save energy during your stay 💡
Simple habits like turning off lights, unplugging devices, and reusing towels during your visit all help reduce energy and water use.

At The Queens, we believe little changes can make a big difference. With a few thoughtful choices, your journey to Leeds can be both memorable and sustainable.
