Accessibility at The Queens Hotel
We aim to provide the highest standards of service to all our guests and we look forward to welcoming you to The Queens Hotel and making your stay an enjoyable one. Facilities available for guests with disability needs are as follows:
Booking
We are here to support your booking process, we can be contacted via a range of methods to support your needs. Our team is happy to assist you daily on Tel: 0113 2431323. Alternatively, you may find it easier to contact our in house reservations team via email on reception@thequeensleeds.co.uk, open during office hours the team will be able to check availability and ensure the correct accessible room is allocated for your stay.
Arrival
The nearest disabled parking is at Leeds Railway Station Long Stay Car Park which is located a 1 minute walk from the hotel. Step-free access is via the station concourse. This door is electronically controlled by Reception with an intercom if assistance is required.
If arriving to the hotel on foot, there is a ramp leading to a wheelchair accessible side door next to the main revolving door. This door is electronically controlled by Reception with an intercom if assistance is required.
The hotel has no onsite parking available. The nearest car park is Leeds Railway Station Long Stay, which is a 1 minute walk from the hotel and has 307 spaces. Another option is Q-Park located on Sovereign Square which is a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
If you need assistance with luggage or equipment, our team of porters and concierge are on duty 24 hours.
Reception
The Reception desk is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the entrance lobby. The reception desk is 112cm high although check-in can also be completed whilst sitting at the lounge furniture in the lobby area. You will be offered a personal check-in service with a full explanation of the hotel's facilities together with a familiarisation tour if required. Assistance is available to help take your luggage to your room.
Reception staff will also brief you on our evacuation policy and please note on your registration card if assistance is needed in the event of an evacuation.
The following accessible aids are available at Reception:
- Portable Induction Loop for use at Reception
- Vibrating Pad to assist waking guests with hearing disabilities in the event of a fire alarm
- An evac chair is also available to enable staff to assist with the emergency evacuation of disabled, if necessary.
Bedrooms
The Queens Hotel has 6 purpose built disabled accessible rooms located between floors two to seven. If you would like to specifically book one of our access rooms please contact the hotel direct on 0845 034 5777.
In the event of fire alarm activation these rooms have a sounder. In the event of an emergency a member of the team will assist with your evacuation if necessary. Fire evacuation advice is provided on the back of your bedroom door.
Public areas
There are no steps or slopes on the main corridors and public areas on the ground floor.
The Breakfast restaurant is located on the lower ground floor and can be accessed by the two main passenger lifts. The Grand Pacific Bar and Restaurant facilities are located on the ground floor but do have some steps but table service is offered. All lifts have audible enunciation and tactile buttons at standard height.
Accessible toilet facilities are located on the lower ground floor and at ground floor level.
There is good network coverage for mobile phones within the hotel. All networks work.
Conference, Banqueting & Meeting Rooms
Our meeting rooms are located on the ground and first floor and are fully accessible from Reception using the passenger lifts. The meeting rooms on the first floor are accessed via the lifts or staircase in reception. Wheelchair ramps are used to access our ballroom. The Pateley room, Charlotte and Rochester are the only meeting rooms that cannot be accessed by wheelchair users.
Hearing loops are available upon request in advance. Lighting can be dimmed where required.
Please notify your conference or banquet contact for specific seating or staging requirements.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground and lower ground floor which are both accessed via the lift.
Alternative means of transport
If not travelling by car, the nearest bus stop is located at Leeds Railway Station at the side of the hotel and the bus routes from here take you to the White Rose Centre, Leeds Bradford Airport and a number of other locations outside Leeds.
An accessible taxi service is available from Amber Cars who can be contacted on 0113 2311366.
The nearest train station is Leeds Railway Station, which is attached to the side of the hotel. The station concourse can be accessed from within the hotel without the need to venture outside The Queens Hotel building.
The town centre is a minute walk from the hotel entrance.
